I found it fascinating to understand how the Yu shan mountain range was formed with the Eurasian and Philippine sea plate meeting all those years ago. The way in which I paint with oil paints is to build up layers, many thin layers, adding and taking away the paint. Just like really the way the mountains formed and also how it is still being formed today with erosion, the wind and the rain and the elements.
